Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics – Berkshire School Games Finals Today was an amazing day for the Year 5/6 boys and girls from St Peter's! After qualifying back in November, the team returned to compete in the Berkshire School Games Sportshall Athletics County Championship the final stage of the competition. Out of over 200 schools across Berkshire, only the top 7 made it through to today's county finals, and St Peter's proudly stood among them. Every single St Peter's competitor worked incredibly hard in training, and that dedication really showed on the day. The team produced several personal best times and scores, battling through a tense and competitive afternoon where multiple schools were still in contention right to the end. With a strong finish in the final relays, St Peter's surged ahead to claim 1st place in the whole of Berkshire, scoring an outstanding 240 points. A massive well done and thank you to all the children for their effort, determination and brilliant teamwork. Mr Kirkby and Mrs Breach were super proud of every single one of them, not only for their performances but also for the way they represented St Peter's with respect, resilience, and enthusiasm throughout the competition.
KS3 Boys Football Match Report On Thursday 5th March, the KS3 boys' football team faced Beechwood in what turned out to be a fiercely contested match. The game was full of passion from both sides, but St Peter's held their nerve and went into half-time with a wellearned 1–0 lead. The second half saw strong play from both teams. Early on, St Peter's extended their advantage to 2–0, before a controversial penalty was awarded to Beechwood, making it 2–1. Shortly after, a long discussion over a possible offside ended with St Peter's third goal being given and from there, the team grew in confidence. What followed was an outstanding display of teamwork, discipline, and determination, as St Peter's went on to secure an impressive 8–1 victory. Mr Kirkby was super proud of every player, praising how all the boys kept their heads in a tense, emotional match and represented St Peter's brilliantly.
This morning, St Peter's was honoured to host the World Day of Prayer service, welcoming friends and visitors from across our local community. The service this year was prepared by the women of Nigeria, and together we reflected on their stories, their faith, and their vibrant culture. It was a meaningful time of shared prayer, unity, and hope. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the gathering so special. A big thank you to the students, Mr Eaton, Penny King and Mr Odufuwa. "I beg you... bear with one another in love." – Ephesians 4:1–3
World Book Day 2026 What a fantastic day! Our pupils and staff came in the most amazing costumes inspired by books that have been brought to life on the big screen. From classic characters to modern favourites, the creativity and excitement were clear to see all around the school. It was wonderful to watch the children proudly share the stories behind their outfits and talk about the books and films they love. Days like this really bring reading to life and remind us how powerful stories can be. A huge well done to all our pupils and to families for the brilliant effort put into the costumes!
